Mission
The Groups and Meetings Committee offers industry leadership and Best-In-Class education in Strategic Meetings Management. The group assesses and explores enterprise-wide meeting and event related processes, metrics, standards and supplier strategies to achieve quantitative cost-savings, risk mitigation and optimal service levels.
Objectives
- Optimize understanding of the true definition of Strategic Meetings Management within the travel and business communities.
- Promote enhanced professional relationships among Strategic Meetings Management Program (SMMP) Stakeholders
- Act as a resource for NBTA members and the broader business community for subject matter expertise and emerging trends in SMM
- Develop and present educational programs, position papers, articles and other relevant content that enhances the progress of SMM
- Provide a blueprint for the implementation of effective meetings management strategies
- Champion the Strategic Meetings Management Certification (SMMC) initiative through active participation in the development and initial deployment
